Tuesday 16, 17 and 18 June Samantha Buckwalter is back! 3 days of classes + 2 hours a day privates. She’s spending the rest of June on mainland Europe so catch her while you can. She will also be back during July.

3-7 July ‘City of Light’ event in Paris with Kyle Redd & Sarah Vann Drake, Ronnie Debenedetta & Laureen Baldovi, Sam Arvidson, Rachael McEnaney, Eric Alhomme & Dora Makhlouf.

24-26 July – The great “Swing Daddy”, Mario Robau Jnr is back for the second of his UK intensive training weekenders, suitable for intermediate dancers and instructors. Dancers from all over the US have benefitted from his many years of experience and unique approach to teaching and learning WCS. You will learn the fine points of leading, following, syncopations, pattern selection, connection, musical interpretation, music theory and other techniques and will also have your dance videoed and critiqued both at the beginning and the end of the intensive. 14-17 August World Swingmasters event in Blackpool is now Bigger & Better
If you love WCS don't miss this one. This summer swing event will be the largest UK line-up of top US pros this year: Parker Dearborn & Jessica Cox, Michael Kielbasa & Jennifer Deluca, + John Lindo together with our top UK pros: Paul Warden & Catriona Wiles, Lee Easton & Rachael McEnaney.
• 3 full days of dancing, competitions and workshops - doors open 10.00 am each day.
• Last year the dancing finished at 1.00am. This year there will be a dedicated swing hotel very close to the Winter Gardens with large dance floor (just for WCS) & bar so you can continue dancing till late, late, late.
• This is now a WSDC event - Jack n Jills in Novice, Intermediate & Advanced! + Strictly Swing. All finalists will be awarded WSDC points.

11-14 September – Eclipse in Skegness, Jive Addiction is bringing over one of the top US and UK favourites: Jordan Frisbee and Tatiana Mollman. The Butlins accommodation and facilities are far superior to the old Southport venue and offer more accommodation choices. www.jiveaddiction.com

25-27 September – Midland Swing Open hosted by Paul Harris & Lee Easton. This is the first US style convention in a 4 star hotel in the UK (the next one being the London Swingvitational later in the year, full details of this next time). US pros are Jason Barnes & Erica Berg and there will be Newcomer, Novice and Open J n J and Strictly Swing competitions. Friday evening will be in a privately hired nightclub till 2.00am and the rest of the convention will be in the Hilton Hotel, Northampton. Special rate £35 per person per night (2 sharing). NB the Early Bird Ticket is £79 and will increase on 1 July so order yours before the end of this month.

I’ve had great reports about this event from a couple of people and I love Arizona. There’s a special offer during June only for an entry pass at $105 and the Resort only $89 per night. Friday 5 June The Funky Bloo Munky Freestyle now a well established monthly freestyle with great music from DJ Keith, virtually 100% WCS tracks (if you have any special music requests please email him at [e-mail]) + delicious tea and cakes from Mel at Chorleywood Memorial Hall, Common Road, Chorleywood WD3 5LN, just off junction 18 of the M25. £8 on the door and free parking opposite. 8 till 12.30.
